The region

Location: The Cavarcou property is situated between Périgord Pourpre and Agenais, on the famous Circuit des Bastides. The Varennes property is located in the Dordogne valley, between Bergerac and Sarlat.

Shops and local products: Shops, doctors and chemists can be found in Issigeac, Castillonnès, Couze and Lalinde. May we recommend the Sunday morning market in the medieval town of Issigeac. The reknowned Bergerac and Monbazillac vineyards are not very far either. Wines, foie gras and other Sud-Ouest delicacies are directly available from local producers.

Leisure and outdoor activities: Nearby leisure and sports activities include: horse riding, golf, microlight planes, tennis, bike rentals, hiking (sentiers de pays, chemins de grande randonnée, etc.), boating and swimming on several lakes.

Sightseeing: Our region is a very touristic area, but even in summer you will find plenty of secluded, green spots, plenty of little villages and châteaux to discover off the beaten path. The classic, touristic spots of Dordogne, Périgord and Lot can be reached by car : the world-famous Dordogne valley, gorgeous lanscapes and numerous castles (Beynac, Castelnau, Domme, Josephine Baker's Milandes castle, etc.). The medieval city of Bergerac, the Monbazillac castle and wine-tasting cellars, the Vézère valley and prehistoric sites (gouffre de Proumeyssac, Les Eyzies) as well as the world-famous Lascaux painted cave are ideal day or half-day trips.
